Motorola has expanded its budget smartphone lineup with the introduction of three new models: the Moto G56, Moto G86, and Moto G86 Power. These devices aim to deliver premium features at affordable price points, all coming in under the $300 mark.
The Moto G56 is the most affordable of the trio, priced at $249. It comes with a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor. You get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
For photography, the G56 features a dual camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The front camera is 16MP for selfies. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support and runs on Android 14.
Moving up the line, the Moto G86 is priced at $299 and offers some upgrades over the G56. It features a slightly larger 6.55-inch pOLED display with the same 120Hz refresh rate but better color reproduction. The G86 is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The camera system on the G86 is more advanced, with a 50MP main camera featuring optical image stabilization, along with an 8MP ultrawide lens. The battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh, but charging speed is bumped up to 33W.
The standout model is the Moto G86 Power, also priced at $299. As the name suggests, battery life is the focus here, with a massive 6,000mAh battery that Motorola claims can last up to two days on a single charge. It supports 33W fast charging as well.
Other specifications of the G86 Power are similar to the regular G86, including the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The display is a 6.7-inch pOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
All three phones come with 5G connectivity, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and IP52 water-repellent designs. They also feature side-mounted fingerprint sensors for security.
Motorola has confirmed that these devices will receive two major Android OS updates and three years of security patches, addressing a common concern with budget smartphones.
The Moto G56, G86, and G86 Power are available for pre-order now through Motorola's website and select retailers, with general availability starting next week in various markets globally.
